Course

A fungal infection causes inflammation of the skin or mucous membranes. Mucous membranes become red and produce a whitish or yellowish coating. The affected mucous membranes are very itchy. If the labia and vagina are affected, a whitish discharge will be produced.

If the skin is affected, such as under the breasts or in the armpits, large, itchy red patches, blisters and flaky skin appear.
