Vaginosis is usually characterized by a grayish-yellowish discharge with a fishy smell. At the same time, you may experience itching or burning when urinating. It is also common, however, that women with vaginosis have no symptoms or only very mild signs of the illness.

If vaginosis remains untreated, other bacteria, viruses and fungi can also replicate more easily in the vagina. In the worst case scenario, untreated vaginosis can cause infertility.
